Nenny Krisnawaty

Nenny Krisnawaty, the young talented woman of Total E&P Indonesie, became the first female Site Manager of the Handil Central Processing Area (Handil CPA) on June 1, 2015. With more than 15 years working at Total E&P Indonesie, she has managed to become the first Indonesian female Site Manager of Total in Indonesia.

Achieving Ambition through Accomplishment

Nenny’s professional journey could be considered colorful. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Nenny started her career in 2000 at Total E&P Indonesie as a Junior Process Engineer. She has been assigned to various locations in East Kalimantan District, both in the Balikpapan Office and at Sites. Her accomplishments counterbalances her will and aspirations. From 2009 to 2011, Nenny was sent on an international assignment (IA) to Total Headquarters in Paris, France. There, she worked as a petroleum architect whose main job was to develop and/or expand new facilities on several fields, particularly in Yemen and the Middle East. Prior to her current position, she held the position of production superintendent at Senipah Peciko and South Mahakam (SPS) field.

Nenny admits that it has been her long-time ambition to become a site manager. “Back then, when I was being interviewed about my career plans, I mentioned something about becoming a Site Manager. There was a female Site Manager at the Central Processing Unit (CPU) site. Her name was Dawn, and she came from the UK. She left a great impression on me, so I wanted to be like her”, she said. Her will and courage to take on challenges have made her what she is today. 

The Lady with Giant Responsibility

She is now the first lady at the Handil CPA Site, a place with great responsibilities where decisions need to be made quickly due to its 24/7 operations, and where she must be ready for any emergency situation. It’s not only about maintaining the company’s assets or delivering on the production target. The most important thing is to maintain the safety of the employees.

The balance between working full time and being with the family during holidays is her key to continuing with her challenging job. For her, preparing herself is the most important thing. “The challenge of becoming a site manager is that you have to be tough physically as well as mentally,” she concludes.
